National Nutrition Month 2025 Celebration Nutrition Exhibition by Diabetic OPD, Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai
On the occasion of National Nutrition Month 2025, Nutrition Exibition was organised by Diabetic OPD Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai.The theme focused on "Eat Right Por for a Better Life: reflecting the commitment to promoting healthy eating habits among the people.Educational Posters and Slogans were displayed, which provided valuable information on various aspects of nutrition. Balanced diet plate for healthy individuals and for diabetic individual were displayed showing portion size and nutrient requirement.Organisers delivered nutrition talk followed by an interactive session. The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Dr Lotika Purohit (Diabetologist), Dr Hemal Bhavani(RMO) and Dr Shrikant Pardhe(RMO). Arrangements were made by Senior Dietician Manisha Nirmal with the help of Dieticians Komal James & Dakshata Veling, Sister Vijaya, Interns Hemika Jain and Siddhi Dhumal as well as kitchen & OPD Servants. The programme was graced by the Presence of Dr.Sunita Nagle Madam (HOD, ENT Dept) as well as Dr. Rewat Kaninde (RMO) sir.

Celebration of World Heart Day & CPD Program for Nursing Officers
Report on Celebration of World Heart Day & CPD Program for Nursing Officers Venue: JJ Hospital, Mumbai Date: 30th September 2025 On the occasion of World Heart Day 2025, a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program was organized at JJ Hospital for nursing officers. Participants included nursing officers from JJ Hospital as well as delegates from Nagpur and Latur. The program aimed to enhance professional knowledge and skills in the prevention, management, and nursing care of cardiovascular diseases (CVD). The program was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Surase, Medical Superintendent, along with Matron Mrs. Yojna Beldar, Principal and Organising Chairperson Dr. Aparna B. Sankhe, and Organising Secretary Mrs. Hemalata Gajbe. All faculty members of the College of Nursing, JJ Hospital, and around 150 nursing officers actively participated. Scientific Sessions: Dr. Sanjay Surase delivered an insightful talk on risk factors of CVD and control measures. Dr. Aparna B. Sankhe, Organising Chairperson, presented the Keynote Address, highlighting the increasing incidence and prevalence of CVD, challenges faced, and future directions for prevention. Dr. Prafulla Salunke, Teacher, College of Nursing, JJ Hospital, spoke on lifestyle modification for cardiac health. Dr. Khalil Shaikh, Cardiologist, discussed cardiac emergencies, rapid response, and critical care management. Ms. Priya Talgoankar presented on nutrition and heart health. Mr. Vishram Kulkarni covered paediatric cardiology. Mrs. Namita Gawade elaborated on advances in cardiology nursing. Mrs. Deepa Kadam conducted a practical demonstration on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The program ran from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with both pre-test and post-test assessments conducted to evaluate learning outcomes. An observer from the Maharashtra Nursing Council appreciated the effective organization and quality of the CPD sessions. With the permission and support of the Dean, JJ Hospital, the event was conducted successfully and met its objectives of professional development for nursing officers.

Grant Government Medical college and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai celebrated Anti Ragging Day and inauguration of Anti ragging week event on 12/08/25. The inaugural function of Anti Ragging Day was headed by Dean Dr Ajay Bhandarwar along with Vice Dean PG Dr Gajanan Chavan & UG Dr Chhaya Valvi, Medical Superintendent Dr Sanjay Surase and Head of the Departments, faculties, anti-ragging committee members. Undergraduate and Postgraduate students actively participated in the event. Anti-Ragging Oath was administered to all, followed by Street play and Poster presentation. Keynote address was given by the Dean. Student’s representatives expressed their views. Two selfie points were also kept.
