Birsa Munda Birsa Munda (1875–1900) was a legendary tribal freedom fighter, folk hero, and spiritual leader from the Munda community of Jharkhand. He is celebrated for leading the Ulgulan (Great Tumult) – a tribal uprising against British colonial rule and exploitative zamindari systems.
